Birsen, 22, of Turkish origin, studies in Strasbourg. She was born and lived in her native country until 2004 before settling in Switzerland with her family, then finally she moved to Strasbourg in 2006. She was able to do an EVS in Tunisia in July 2017. This young motivated and determined to realize his ambitious project by making use of his skills.
Currently a first-year law student in Strasbourg, she plans to continue her career by going to a business school. At the same time, she has always been sensitive to humanitarian and social issues.
She wants to learn and share
She has known AMSED through the JEEP of the writers’ quarter where she currently resides, and has since attended regular information meetings of the association. This is how Birsen heard about the mission in Tunisia and she is particularly fond of traveling to another country, to give more of his person. Indeed, the young woman was seduced by the fact of caring and working for the children, and that in a country of which she does not know the culture.
All the same, the volunteer had some apprehensions. For example she wondered about the age of the volunteers she was going to leave, the age of the children she had to deal with, the atmosphere of the team and especially if she was qualified enough for this mission.
This did not cause any problems for the young woman because she already had assets: she did many summer jobs and volunteered in a recreation center with children for two years. This experience was very rewarding for Birsen and contributed to the desire to be helpful and help children in difficulty
An enriching experience
Generally, something is always expected of such a mission, Birsen, it expects both a personal enrichment that professional. For her, this unique experience has made her a more mature and aware person in the world, and moreover, she proudly admits that it will be more than beneficial to put this mission on her resume to show what she is able to do and prove that she is not afraid. The latter now wants to make new volunteer missions because she loved to spend a small part of her time doing this.!
